This photo was taken by my cousin yesterday, when Uncle cooked Valenciana in celebration of All Souls’ Day. “Dukot,” as what we call burnt rice sticking to the bottom of the pot in Hiligaynon, is everybody’s favorite—a Halloween treat for Filipinos.
